This Easter, the true spirit of community and compassion was on full display as Freemasons united to donate over 2,000 Easter Eggs to hospitals, care homes, charities, and community groups across London Essex.

From London to Southend and Thurrock to Colchester,, smiles were shared and spirits lifted thanks to the phenomenal efforts of the Cross Keys Community Fund, Orsett Masonic Centre, and the heartfelt generosity of Freemasons, families, friends, and volunteers from every corner of Essex.

Throughout the spring, Lodges across Essex have been working tirelessly, fundraising, collecting, and delivering Easter Eggs to bring joy to those who need it most, including:

Children in hospital wards, such as Evelina London undergoing treatment over the Easter break
Families facing homelessness, supported by Friends of London and Essex Homeless
Young cancer patients and their loved ones, through Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund
Individuals navigating mental health challenges, with support from Mind
Survivors of domestic abuse, empowered by Changing Pathways
And many more frontline organisations and care providers who give selflessly year-round.

David Barton, Essex Freemasons Community Engagement Lead, shared his gratitude:
“Thank you to every Lodge and every volunteer who made this possible. Together, we’ve shown that community engagement and small gestures can have a big impact – especially when they come from the heart.”

Steve Bruyel, Deputy Provincial Charity Steward, echoed this sentiment:
“Meeting the incredible people behind these charities and delivering the eggs personally was deeply moving. It reminded us all that kindness is powerful, and community is everything.”

This Easter, Freemasons didn’t just deliver eggs – they delivered hope, smiles, and solidarity.
