A special festive event full of fun for Harlow families has been held at the Great Parndon Community Association Playbarn.
The Winter Experience party, which took place on Monday 23 December, was for families from Harlow, some of whom are vulnerable, who have met through the Community Hub or attended events held by Rainbow Services throughout the year.
Rainbow Services partnered with local businesses Synthomer, Colas and GSK, with staff donating gifts for the event, which featured a Santa’s grotto, children’s entertainer and arts and crafts. The families who attended were all treated to a hamper full of goodies, winter warmth and health information, toothbrushes and toothpaste.
Councillor Danielle Brown, cabinet portfolio holder for community and wellbeing, who also attended the event, said:
“What a fantastic event – as well as providing some Christmas cheer for the Harlow families who came along, it was a great opportunity to share some important information and tips on staying healthy and warm during the winter months.
“Rainbow Services does such good work within our community here in Harlow and I want to thank them, and the local businesses who partnered with them, for putting on such a great event. I’d also like to wish everyone in Harlow a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!”
The event was funded via Active Essex and their Winter Experience fund. The Community Hub is funded by Harlow Council through its UK Shared Prosperity Funding.
