Local award-winning crisp producer Fairfields Farm spreads festive cheer with potato donations and volunteer support

Essex-based crisp producer Fairfields Farm is proud to support local food kitchens this December, combining potato donations with hands-on volunteer efforts. The family-run business is donating potatoes to Colchester Foodbank, Chelmsford Foodbank, Sanctus Chelmsford, and FoodCycle, to support each organisation’s ongoing mission to combat hunger and poverty in the local area.

In addition to the donations, several members of the Fairfields Farm team will spend time throughout December volunteering at Colchester Foodbank, the busiest food bank in Essex. For over 15 years, this foodbank has been a vital resource for the local community, providing three-day emergency food supplies to individuals and families in crisis. The team will volunteer on multiple dates throughout December, including participating in ‘elf packing’, to help meet heightened demand over the Christmas period.

The Fairfields Farm team will also be supporting Sanctus Chelmsford’s café, a sanctuary for homeless and vulnerable individuals. Operating for more than a decade, the café offers warm, nutritious meals, clothing and essential supplies, while fostering a welcoming and supportive environment. Volunteers from Fairfields Farm will assist with serving meals, maintaining the café space, helping behind the counter, and engaging with visitors to ensure a positive and uplifting experience.

Commercial Director, Tash Jones, comments saying “The festive season can be an especially challenging time for vulnerable individuals and families. At Fairfields Farm, we’re passionate about making a tangible difference in the lives of those around us, and being part of our local communities, and we hope that by donating potatoes and volunteering our time, we can make even the smallest bit of difference.

“These organisations do phenomenal work year-round, but the need during the festive season is even greater. It’s a privilege to contribute in any way we can”
