This Christmas, why not make your gift truly meaningful by helping someone experiencing homelessness? HARP, Southend’s leading homeless charity, is appealing for you to support its Christmas fundraising appeal by shopping in its online Christmas shop. Your purchase could provide a hot meal or a thoughtful gift to someone facing homelessness this winter.
Every donation brings a touch of Christmas cheer to those rough sleeping, sofa surfing or staying in HARP’s temporary accommodation. Through the online shop, you can also leave a personal message of hope, letting someone know they are cared for during this challenging season.
Maggie (see picture attached), a volunteer who has been cooking meals at HARP for over eight years, knows firsthand how much a warm meal and kind gestures can mean.
“Many of the people HARP supports haven’t had the best start in life – no decorated trees, no pile of presents, and sometimes not even a special Christmas meal. For some, the staff and volunteers at HARP are the closest thing to family during the holidays. We work hard to make the Christmas season a little brighter.”
Prefer to shop in person? Visit one of HARP’s five charity shops to make a donation and purchase a card to gift your donation instead of a traditional present.
