Mental health charity, Mid and North East Essex Mind has launched an Impact Report to demonstrate the vital work it undertakes.
Within just 12 months the charity has supported nearly 10,000 people with their mental wellbeing from Braintree to Harwich and Colchester to Chelmsford. The charity has also been busy developing new services and support groups to help people in their communities.
Since April 2023 the organisation has launched a Personality Disorder Service, plus suicide awareness training. To ensure its services meet the needs of local people it has also set-up a Lived Experience Panel ‘Voices for a Brighter Future’. The group meets regularly and ensures Mid and North East Essex Mind is developing services that are accessible to all. The charity has also launched a Mental Health Toolkit which has been designed to help everyone understand and manage their own mental wellbeing using everyday language.
Ginny Idehen, CEO, Mid and North East Essex Mind, who joined the charity in August 2023, has helped the board of trustees and team to create a new strategy for the next three years. She also oversees all day-to-day activity. Ginny says: “I am so proud of our team; we’ve all worked together to ensure our services best meet the needs of the people in our region. Post pandemic there’s an extreme demand on mental health services. We’re committed to doing all we can to offer hope and support for good mental health, so that no-one feels alone.”
She continued: “Mid and North East Essex Mind is a charity, and we don’t receive any direct funds from national Mind, we rely on donations and fundraisers to ensure our vital work can continue in our communities.”
