Mid Essex Recovery College, part of Provide Community, is delighted to announce the launch of its FREE summer courses, aimed at promoting mental health and well-being across the Mid Essex area.
With a diverse range of offerings, both online and in-person, the summer programme is designed to support individuals in their recovery journey, enhance personal development, and foster community connections.
Mid Essex Recovery College has developed an extensive list of courses tailored to meet the varied needs of our communities. From creative arts and mindfulness practices to practical skills and peer support, there is something for everyone. Highlights of the summer courses include:
Creating Art in Nature – multiple dates and locations: Explore and ‘have a go’ at various forms of artistic expression to boost mental health and discover new passions.
Mindfulness – every Wednesday afternoon, 1pm to 3pm at St Mary’s, Maldon: Join in discussions and learn effective strategies to manage stress and improve overall well-being through mindfulness practices.
Men and Mental Health – online session on 6 August: Engage with others who have shared experiences, develop skills to cope with life’s challenges and build a supportive network.
Navigating Services – Wednesday 14 August, online: This online workshop will help you navigate health services to either self-refer or be referred and find out support options in your community to be more confident accessing help.
Vignesh Vyas, Operational Lead at Mid Essex Recovery College, said: “We are thrilled to offer these enriching courses to the community.
“Our goal is to provide accessible and effective resources that empower individuals to take charge of their mental health and well-being. Whether you are looking to develop new skills, find support, or simply explore new interests, our summer free courses have something to offer.”
All courses are co-produced and co-delivered by individuals with lived experience of mental health, and professional experience of working within mental health. They are all free of charge to ensure they are accessible to everyone in the community. The courses are open to individuals aged 18 and above, and no prior experience or referral is necessary to enroll.
