In a display of football fever, Asda has unveiled the “Southgate Slice” – a culinary hat-trick created to rally support for the England manager and national squad ahead of their hotly anticipated showdown in the Euro final this Sunday.
Commissioned by the Asda Southgate store, the one-of-a-kind pizza portrait plays homage to the England manager with a vibrant and detailed depiction of his face. A staggering 180g of sliced ham was used to make the face area, whilst the hair and beard were created with 24 thinly sliced Spanish black olives, 100g small strips of British beef, and 60g British mozzarella cheese cut into tiny pieces to provide the colour tones.
In total the artwork took a painstaking ten hours to complete – each ingredient placed on piece by piece.
