Just Stop Oil confirms plan to mount protests at homes of MPs, ‘because politics is failing’

CAMPAIGN group Just Stop Oil has confirmed that it is planning to target the homes of Members of Parliament in forthcoming protests.

Dr Bing Jones told GB News: “Look, nobody wants to disturb anybody unnecessarily…we’re going to target politicians because politics is failing.

“People have targeted politicians since time immemorial. Politicians are paid to act and we’ve had 30 years of not acting on the biggest problem that there has ever been.”

In a discussion with Emily Carver and Ben Leo, he continued: “The Government has not done anything at the scale and pace that’s required. And in fact, what they’re doing is making it worse.

“If you’ve got a problem before you can make it better, first, you’ve got to stop making it worse. And what our government has done and what the Labour Party is planning to go on to do is licence more oil and gas, that’s just going to make the problem worse.”

He added: “Literally, politicians have failed. They failed to act for 30 years on the biggest problem that even Mrs Thatcher was really eloquent about 30 years ago.

“We’re failing. This is the biggest problem that humanity’s ever faced.”

He also claimed that climate change is blame for a two-year-old boy who has gone missing after falling into the River Soar in Leicester.

Dr Jones said: “Were you concentrating, Ben, were you looking at the screen? The screen obviously had the river overflowing onto the path. The little boy, let’s hope to god he’s alright.”

Ben asked what evidence he had that it was overflowing because of climate change and not blocked drains.

“That’s pathetic,” said Dr Jones. “We’ve had every single month from May, June, July, right through until January has been the hottest month ever, every single one.

“The sea is boiling. Every single sea is hotter than it’s ever been and it’s hotter by an enormous jump.

“Every single agency, which is not funded by fossil fuels, which is not associated with the profits of fossil fuels, says we are in deep trouble.”
