Cinema-goers also took advantage of the delicious food on offer, with almost double the normal number of combo meals sold.
Similarly, food outlets saw incredible demand with Starbucks taking over twice their usual profit, alongside Bella Italia, Frankie’s, Nando’s and Five Guys who also saw lengthy queues and high takings.
Cineworld Basildon offers screenings of 2D, 4DX, IMAX and IMAX 3D films, showcasing the newest releases, anniversary screenings and cultural performances amongst others.
Matthew Chambers, Centre Manager at Festival Leisure Park, commented “We are thrilled that National Cinema Day was such a success here at Festival Leisure Park. We are lucky to have such a large Cineworld that offers such a huge range of screenings, and the day of discounted tickets proved to be incredibly popular with the public.”
