The Amazon fulfilment centre in Tilbury has made a £2,500 donation to a family support charity in Brentwood.

SNAP provides childcare, early education help and support services for parents of children with additional needs or disabilities in Brentwood and the surrounding areas.

The Amazon team raised money for SNAP through ticket sales for their annual party earlier in the year, and this fundraising was boosted by a further £300 donation from the site.

The donation from Amazon will help to ensure SNAP can continue to provide a variety of services including a helpline, specialist parent talks and developmental sessions for children and young people.

Speaking on the donation, Ruzanna Sargsyan, General Manager at Amazon in Tilbury, said: “I am pleased we could support SNAP with this donation and hope it gives the team of staff and volunteers a boost in their work in and around our local community.”

Zachary Baldwin, an Amazon employee who nominated the charity for support, added:

“SNAP is an excellent charity that offers valuable support for parents with children with additional needs in our area. I’m glad Amazon could support the charity with this donation, and I know it will be well received.”

Karen Boath, CEO at SNAP, said:

“We want to say thank you to Ruzanna and the team at Amazon in Tilbury for this donation. At SNAP, we are committed to informing, encouraging and supporting parents to grow in strength and knowledge and become better equipped to give the best possible help to their children. Community support helps us continue our work, so we are grateful for this donation.”

The donation to SNAP was made as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK.

Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering more than six million healthy breakfasts to families across England.
