The annual event organised by Tilbury Riverside Project will take place on Wednesday 10th August and is free to members of the local community.
Tilbury Riverside Project, which was founded in 1998 to promote economic, social and environmental regeneration throughout Tilbury, organises a number of different events each year. For a number of years, Tilbury’s Picnic in the Park has offered live performances, face painting and entertainment for the whole family.
EMR’s Tilbury sites, based at Tilbury Docks and East Tilbury, have offered £2,000 sponsorship to cover the cost of the stage, entertainment, first aiders to be able to put this event on for the community free of charge.
Annie O’Brien of Tilbury Riverside Project commented: “I am delighted with this generous donation from EMR. Without help from local businesses the Tilbury Riverside Project would not be able to hold events like the Picnic in the Park for the local community. I would like to say a very big thank you on behalf of myself and the volunteers for the Tilbury Riverside Project.”
Michael Webb, Operations Manager at EMR Tilbury Dock, added: “At EMR we are profoundly aware of the importance of a sense of community in Tilbury and the surrounding areas. This event offers an excellent opportunity for families to meet and for friendships to be made, which will have a positive impact in the community for years to come.
“Each year Annie and the team at Tilbury Riverside Project pull out all of the stops to ensure that each event is better than that last and as many community members as possible have access to it. Myself and the whole team at EMR’s Tilbury sites are proud to be able to do our bit to help make this event happen.”
