Hertfordshire-based charity Electric Umbrella has opened an emporium in Hemel Hempstead to bring new projects closer to the learning disabled people they serve.
The charity uses the power of music to enhance the lives of its members and has added another string to its bow after the grand opening of the Electric Umbrella Emporium on Saturday, May 14.
Based in The Marlowes Shopping Centre in Hemel, and opened by the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Robert Voss, at the weekend, the charity plans to use the store to showcase all the amazing work they do.
Thanks to the success of the 1000 Instruments campaign that saw the charity send out an appeal for instruments to be donated, Electric Umbrella decided to embark on an exciting adventure to best utilise their new stock after the magnificent response.
The shop features an eclectic mix of instruments for sale, reimagined items to interact with and a workshop to fix, re-imagine and service donated instruments.
All of this creates an immersive experience for Electric Umbrella members to develop and learn new skills, as well as a store for the general public to enjoy.
The shop also encompasses a brand new studio/live room where members can get involved with all aspects of live performance and create new and exciting music together.
