Sebastian’s Action Trust will receive nearly £70,000 from local housebuilder Barratt Homes, who hosted its annual Charity Golf Day & Evening Ball earlier this month. The children’s charity is Barratt Southern Counties’ Charity of the Year for the second consecutive year, with the housebuilder set to continue fundraising until the end of 2021.
Barratt Southern Counties’ total fundraising amount so far (£66,827.31) has been boosted by ticket sales, auctions, raffles and stand-alone donations collected on the night. Sebastian’s Action Trust offers social, emotional and practical care to over 600 life-limited and life-threatened children and their families through a variety of services including bereavement care, outreach support, financial advice and welfare support. This year, Sebastian’s Action Trust has also celebrated ten years of The Bluebells, its respite and outreach centre near Basingstoke, Hampshire.
Simon Lillywhite, Fundraising & Communications Manager of Sebastian’s Action Trust, comments: “This is an extraordinary amount of money that we are over the moon to receive and put to good use for our beneficiaries. Everyone at the Trust is so grateful for Barratt Southern Counties’ continued support throughout the past couple of years which has enabled our services to keep supporting children and their families through their difficult times alongside the extra challenges presented by the pandemic.”
Kimberley Benson, Sales & Marketing Director for Barratt Southern Counties, adds: “We are really proud to have raised a significant amount of money already this year for the charity and we are determined to continue to help support the most vulnerable children and families in the local area. We would like to thank our stakeholders and colleagues for their generosity and contributions towards our fundraising event last week. We look forward to hosting more events and organising new ways to keep supporting the wonderful work at Sebastian’s Action Trust.”
Earlier this year, colleagues at Barratt Southern Counties took part in a series of sponsored swims, walks and runs to raise money for the Trust. Additional fundraising events such as ‘bake offs’ and dress down days will be hosted as staff return to the office in October. The housebuilder has also provided the charity with updated signage to front The Woodlands, the charity’s outreach centre in Crowthorne, Berkshire.
