The star of My Big Fat Fabulous Life rose to fame for her dancing skills, and she took to Instagram on Friday to remind fans that she’s still got it! The plus-size dancer posted a video of herself twerking to Rihanna‘s “Pose” and she wasn’t afraid to show off her sexy moves while wearing a crop top!
“When you were literally JUST tryna work on your hip isolations, but [Rihanna] came on and then you had to head roll, and then you turned around and had to lose your mind and start all over,” the 32-year-old wrote on Instagram. “Oh well – this was more fun, anyway!”
The body positivity activist has been very open about her 200-plus weight gain and has done her best to foster a body positive culture on social media. She could probably increase her reach if she used a service like Growthsilo but for now she is content with spreading her message in her own sexy way.
Social media has often been critisized for spreading unrealistic beauty goals and standards and Whitney has done her best to combat them. After all, this culture appeared to have affected her at a younger point in her life. Whitney was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome in her early 20s – and she said that she gave up her passion for dancing because she felt ashamed of her body. But after she went viral in 2014 for her YouTube video “A Fat Girl Dancing,” she started her No Body Shame campaign. She vowed to not let her weight limit her – and she uses her platform to promote self-love and acceptance at any size.
