Uncle Funk is back in Bishop’s Stortford with his new band Disco Inferno after a packed summer of festival shows.
Fresh from their headline appearances on the opening night of Standon Calling and the Marvellous Festival in Berkshire , along with coveted spots at Fleurfest in Oxfordshire and the two Rewind Festivals in Macclesfield and Henley-on-Thames, the hit disco band are returning to Southmill Arts in the town on September 9th.
Having gone through a complete makeover in early 2020, the band is now a 9 piece featuring Cliff Richard’s guitarist Bobby Harrison, Bonnie Tyler’s bass player Mike Brooks, Vertaal’s drummer Ajit Gill, jazz keyboardist James Beckwith, saxophonist Fiona Asbury who has toured the world with many famous artists and orchestras, west-end musical veteran Rosie Duckworth on trumpet and the amazing Seifert Sisters on vocals.
Tanya Seifert also fronts the Women In Rock theatre show and the sisters are award winning acrobats and pole dancers.
Commenting on his new line up, Uncle Funk said “I’m very proud of this new band! With very little chance to rehearse during lock-down they’ve been thrown in at the deep end with some major festival shows and I’ve had nothing but incredible feedback, including many who have told me that’s it’s the best Uncle Funk show they’ve ever seen! All the disco hits are still part of the show, with a few surprises thrown in, and a whole new image!”
