Festival Leisure Park Basildon saw the return of their free and extremely popular Heroes and Villains event on Sunday 20th April – Easter Sunday.

image003.jpgVisitors flocked to the Park to meet and take photos with iconic characters from television and cinema, with a huge range of fan favourites in attendance, including Marvel and DC heroes, iconic Star Wars characters and more!

Families could pose with the on-screen icons, interact with out-of-this-world characters and soak up the electric atmosphere on what was a fantastic Easter Sunday.

Alongside the characters, there was a spectacular line-up of famous character cars on the day to enjoy. This year saw the ’89 Batmobile, Trotter Van, Lightning McQueen and the Ghostbusters favourite Ecto-1, which saw fans of all ages snapping photos.

The popular Easter trail was also back for another year, and saw young adventurers on the search for hidden posters around the Park to win a tasty Easter treat. The first 100 to complete the trail even got to enjoy a full sized Easter egg to take home, and one lucky family were selected in the prize draw to win four Cineworld tickets for the ultimate day out!

Also to wish families a ‘Hoppy Easter’, the Easter Bunny made appearances throughout the day – much to the excitement of the little ones!

Whilst the event was free for families to enjoy, Festival Leisure Park was raising vital funds for their chosen charities Great Ormond Street Hospital and Reach Equine on the day for anyone who was able to donate. Reach Equine’s ponies even made an appearance dresses in their best superhero outfits for families to get up close and personal to the miniature ponies who assist in providing help to those benefitting from their services.

Festival Leisure Park is home to a huge range of entertainment and restaurant options to explore all year round, and served as the perfect conclusion to an exciting day out for Easter Sunday.

Matthew Chambers, Centre Manager at Festival Leisure Park, commented “It’s been fantastic to see so many people out on Easter Sunday enjoying all that this free event and the Park has to offer. We pride ourselves on providing excellent free entertainment for local families, and it’s been great to see so many familiar faces back again this year, as well as welcoming new ones. Keep an eye on social media to see how much we raised for our chosen charities, thanks to the generous donations of our attendees. Thanks for coming, and see you again next year!”
