Following a successful bid to the Department for Education, Chelmsford Learning Partnership (CLP), a multi-academy trust based in Essex, has welcomed its ninth school to its family of schools. Runwell Community Primary School a co-educational primary school in Wickford, joined the trust on 1 April.
Chelmsford Learning Partnership now consists of five primary schools, three secondary schools and one all-through school, serving around 8,000 students. Its current schools include Barnes Farm Primary School, Lakelands Primary School, Perryfields Infant School, Roding Valley High School, The Beaulieu Park School, The Boswells School, The Tyrrells Primary School and William de Ferrers School.
Paul Banks, Chief Executive Officer at the Chelmsford Learning Partnership said: “At Chelmsford Learning Partnership, we want to help every child achieve their potential. As with all of our schools, we recognise that Runwell Community Primary School plays an important role in serving its local community and we are looking forward to supporting Rachel and her team to build on the work they have already done to offer an ambitious education for their pupils.”
By joining the trust, Runwell Community Primary School will enjoy access to experienced school leadership, centralised support services, shared resources and additional staff training and development. The schools already within the trust have benefited from its support, evidenced by strong results in the Department for Education’s recently published school league tables. Currently, 71.5 per cent of the trust’s primary school pupils achieved the national standards in reading, writing and maths, compared to the national average of just 61 per cent. Chelmsford Learning Partnership’s secondary schools also saw growth above the national averages in Progress 8 scores (+0.13 compared to the national figure of -0.03) and a considerable increase in the percentage of Grades 9 to 7 (equivalent to A* and A).
Rachel Anthony, Headteacher at Runwell Community Primary School, said: “We have been working hard to build a safe and inclusive environment where all of our pupils can achieve their potential, an achievement which was recognised by Ofsted during its most recent visit. We are looking forward to being part of the trust’s family of schools and I am confident that the opportunities and resources that the partnership offers will ensure we continue the positive trajectory of our school”.
