London Stansted is celebrating the arrival of a new airline and the addition of a new country to its network, as Air Algérie launched its first direct flight to Algiers yesterday (April 2).
The Algerian flag carrier will operate four flights per week to Houari Boumediene Airport on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays using Boeing 737 aircraft, offering both business and economy seats.
Fares start at £205, including 10kg of cabin baggage and 23kg of hold baggage.
Gareth Powell, London Stansted’s Managing Director, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Air Algérie to London Stansted, marking an exciting milestone as we add both a new airline and a new country to our growing network. This new route provides more choice and value for passengers while strengthening ties between London and Algiers.”
Hamza Benhamouda, Air Algérie’s CEO, added:
“We are excited to expand our presence in the UK with this new route to London Stansted. The addition of Stansted to our network offers passengers greater flexibility and accessibility, particularly for the Algerian community in the UK. We are proud to be the first airline to connect Stansted directly to Algeria and look forward to welcoming travellers on board and providing them with the quality service Air Algérie is known for.”
