Wickham Bishops football club, Beacon Hill Rovers, has kicked off 2025 by lending their support to Mid and North East Essex Mind.
The local mental health charity will be the club’s charity of the year and footballers will mark the start of their partnership by playing with the Mid and North East Essex Mind logo on their shirts.
Merf Roberts, Chairman, Beacon Hill Rovers FC, is looking forward to working alongside the charity. He hopes the partnership will help support the wellbeing of the club’s players and wider community. Merf explains: “We are passionate at Beacon Hill Rovers about our members wellbeing and supporting their mental health. Our partnership with Mid and
North East Essex Mind will really help ensure our players, plus our coaching staff and their families are aware of what support is available locally.”
Mid and North East Essex Mind provides a wide range of mental health services for people in the area. The charity runs the North East Essex Sanctuary for people with mental health crisis. There’s also a range of counselling services, online support and resources hub, plus training to improve mental wellbeing.
Karen Mitchell, Head of Income Generation and Engagement at Mid and North East Essex Mind, said: “We are delighted that Beacon Hill Rovers has selected us as their charity of the year. We look forward to working closely with them to support club members with resources to help them take care of their mental health on and off the pitch.”
