Specialist security providers Land Sheriffs are advancing client and public safety with a newly extended state-of-the-art control room, which includes 24/7 real-time CCTV monitoring.

As part of a scheme to enhance around-the-clock security monitoring for clients, Land Sheriffs has newly refurbished their state-of-the-art in-house control room. The room, which is now four times bigger than before, enables their team to deliver continuous protection and CCTV monitoring.
“Our Operational Control Centre (OCC) offers a central hub for smart camera deployment and monitoring, including both covert and overt cameras which feed into the OCC. It’s manned 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year – which gives our clients complete peace of mind. With the OCC, we can be proactive and preventative to ensure our clients’ land, assets and infrastructure are safe, secure and protected” says James Coyle, Managing Director of Land Sheriffs.
Land Sheriffs’ control room is a hub for all operational information and intelligence. It allows the company’s wide-reaching teams to act as a first response for clients including Network Rail, British Transport Police and various train operating companies.
The OCC includes smart lighting and smart speakers which notify Land Sheriffs’ controllers of different incident types.
The security specialists say the biggest benefit of the OCC is its role in helping them deliver unparalleled connection and communication for their clients.
“Our control room allows us to outsource CCTV for our clients and deal with incidents as efficiently as possible. This extra level of connection means we can provide an end-to-end service and be ‘eyes on’ at all times. Our dedicated controllers actively monitor cameras, identify problems, devise remote solutions, and quickly and effectively dispatch mobile teams and contact emergency services in real-time” adds James.
Land Sheriffs play a key role in deterring crimes like theft and vandalism, as well as providing frontline interventions or apprehending where necessary. They also regularly compile reports highlighting high-risk areas, hotspot locations and key incident types.
“Network Rail recently credited our control room and expert professional team for alerting the presence of a trespasser. We provided an exact location and fantastic imagery so the incident could be quickly dealt with. This clear and fast communication with the relevant authorities is key for ensuring swift resolution for our clients” says James.
