Throughout 2024 Ellisons marked its 260th anniversary with a year of celebrations, community engagement and fundraising activities across its five offices in Bury St Edmunds, Colchester, Chelmsford, Ipswich and Frinton-on-Sea.
Today the law firm has confirmed that their collective efforts resulted in over £44,000 raised, supporting a range of charities and local causes, with a particular focus on The Brain Tumour Charity and Essex Wildlife Trust.
The fundraising challenge has been a cornerstone of the anniversary celebrations with colleagues across the firm embracing the opportunity to make a difference, organising creative events and engaging with their local communities. Departments even competed to come up with the most innovative ways to raise money, creating a buzz of enthusiasm and collaboration throughout the year.
Grant Maton, Corporate Communication Officer at Essex Wildlife Trust, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the long-term commitment, generosity and support of Ellisons. Their remarkable fundraising efforts, including the £16,880 raised during their 260th Anniversary Year, are making a real difference in protecting and preserving our county’s natural spaces. Thanks to Ellisons support, we are creating and protecting a Wilder Essex for local communities to enjoy now and for generations to come”
Guy Longhurst, Managing Partner at Ellisons Solicitors, said:
“Our 260th anniversary has been about reflecting on our history, celebrating our achievements, and most importantly, giving back to the communities we are proud to be part of. The response from our colleagues and local communities has been incredible, and it has been inspiring to see the effort and creativity everyone has put into fundraising. Supporting causes like Essex Wildlife Trust and The Brain Tumour Charity has always been a part of our ethos, and we are proud to contribute to their amazing work.”
