Colchester City Council is delighted to announce that a cheque for £2,000 was presented to Headway Essex on Sunday, marking the culmination of the highly successful Thunderbirds & Co: The Joy of Puppetry exhibition and associated events.
The funds were raised thanks to the incredible generosity and enthusiasm of the contributors and visitors who supported the exhibition, celebrating the magic of puppetry and iconic creations such as Thunderbirds. A significant portion of the donation was made possible by Big Finish Productions, whose contribution of £1,000 was generously matched by the Colchester Museums Development Foundation, bolstered by proceeds from ticket sales.
The exhibition’s success owes much to the passion and dedication of Graham Farley, a private collector whose tireless efforts and unparalleled collection brought the event to life. Additional contributions from organisations and individuals, including Big Finish Productions, ensured the exhibition resonated with fans old and new.
On the same day, Colchester Arts Centre Director Anthony Roberts performed his traditional rendition of the Dickens classic A Christmas Carol in aid of Headway Essex. This festive event raised an additional £1,100 for the charity, further supporting its vital work.
