The North Essex Economic Board (NEEB), a collaborative partnership of district councils from Braintree, Chelmsford, Colchester, Epping Forest, Maldon, Tendring, Uttlesford, and Essex County Council, is proud to announce the development and imminent launch of an innovative Young Entrepreneurs Programme, aimed at nurturing young talent and supporting economic growth in the region. This programme is part of NEEB’s broader strategy to help businesses thrive, develop local skills, attract investment, and pave the way for success for North Essex.
The North Essex Economic Board’s Strategy outlines a comprehensive approach to ensuring sustainable economic growth and creating opportunities for all.
Through this plan, NEEB is committed to helping businesses overcome challenges, supporting workforce development, and empowering young people to turn their business ideas into reality.
The Young Entrepreneurs Programme will offer budding business leaders under 30 access to three core areas of support:
1. Dedicated Start-Up Support from Business Experts: Participants from 16 – 30 will be able to access tailored advice and guidance through workshops and business experts, providing them with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate the early stages of entrepreneurship.
2. Young Market Trader Support and Grants: Young market traders can benefit from a range of support to kickstart their ventures. This includes opportunities to test products in real market conditions, 20 free NMTF annual memberships offering insurance and trader support, funded workshops on market trading success, and 25 grants of £200 each.
3. Inclusion in a Prestigious “30 Under 30” List: The most promising young entrepreneurs will be featured in NEEB’s “30 Under 30” list, which will highlight rising business stars in the region. The Top participants will also receive free marketing support to help boost their visibility and reach.
Cllr Siddall, Chair of the North Essex Economic Board, commented:
“We’re thrilled to announce the development of the Young Entrepreneurs Programme, which is a key part of our strategy to drive economic growth across North Essex. By supporting the next generation of business leaders, we are helping to build a more prosperous future for the entire region. Whether it’s expert advice, real-world trading opportunities, or recognition through our ‘30 Under 30’ list, this programme is designed to give young entrepreneurs the best possible start on their journey to success.”
This initiative reflects NEEB’s commitment to creating a strong business ecosystem across North Essex, helping businesses grow, and developing the skills of the local workforce. The programme is an exciting new opportunity for young people aged 16-30 who are looking to take their first steps in the business world.
