A Colchester paramedic has vowed to ‘step up and fill the gap’ as the opportunity to get a prompt appointment with a GP within the city becomes increasingly challenging.
With an increasing number of patients finding it difficult to access same-day, face-to-face appointments with a GP, Sophie Pickford has shared her determination to get essential healthcare easier, not more difficult.
Sophie launched Hassle Free Healthcare just over a year ago, with the aim of giving patients in and around the city of Colchester the chance to phone up and book in for a face-to-face medical appointment on the same day.
Patients are assessed by Sophie, an advanced clinical practitioner and independent prescriber who has been working locally in general practice for the last six years. As a Level 7 practitioner, Sophie is qualified to examine and treat both children and adults.
Sophie explained: “In the face of growing frustration with NHS delays and long GP wait times, I wanted Hassle Free Healthcare to step up to provide a faster, more accessible alternative for patients in need. With a mission to take the stress out of healthcare, we’ve already helped hundreds of patients in the local community.

A Care Quality Commission approved practice, Hassle Free Healthcare is based at The Point Clinic on De Grey Road in Colchester, with free parking and disabled access, plus a friendly reception team with all the necessary training to book in medical appointments.
As well as same day appointments, Hassle Free Healthcare also offers out-of-hour appointments meaning you can access medical appointments until 8pm during weekdays and between 8.30am and 3pm on Saturdays. 20-minute appointments are priced at £49.
