You better watch out, you better not cry, better not pout, I’m telling you why…Santa Claus is coming to town – he really is!
The excitement is building as, for one night only, Father Christmas is trading in his sleigh for a Hedingham and Chambers bus. The Big Man is set to visit Clacton and Jaywick on the Open Top festive bus on Wednesday December 11 accompanied by his cheeky elves.
Father Christmas and his band of merry helpers will be jingling all the way along the bus route 4 from Clacton to Jaywick spreading festive cheer while also raising money for a good cause.
He will be sprinkling his Christmas magic along the route from Pier Avenue in Clacton to Martello Beach Park in Jaywick. The bus will set out from Clacton at 5pm and will stop along the way before looping back to Pier Avenue.
Families are invited to join in the Yuletide celebrations by singing along to carols and snaping some jolly holly selfies with the elves and Father Christmas.
The team will also be looking to share goodwill at Christmas as they will be collecting donations of money and non perishable food for the Clacton Food Bank. All donations are welcome and will be delivered to the food bank as the festive gang make their way back to the North Pole.
Davina Langley, Head of Commercial and Marketing for Go East Anglia said: “Christmas is such a special time of year and we want to bring joy to families in Clacton and Jaywick while also helping to raise money for the Clacton Food Bank which does such good work at Christmas and all year round.
Our buses play a vital role in the local community, helping everyone, from the young to the elderly, reach their destinations. It’s fantastic to spread some festive joy and cheer in the heart of the community and for us to transport Santa to meet the families of Clacton before the big day.
“Please do come along and see our magical bus and share the spirit of Christmas with us.”
Reasons why Father Christmas loves to travel by bus:
• It helps to save the North Pole – taking the bus means Father Christmas is leaving a smaller carbon footprint so he is helping to keep the air cleaner and the planet a little greener.
• Burns off all those extra mince pie calories – a stroll to the bus stop is a great way to stay active and loss those extra Christmas pounds.
• Keeps him cool, calm and merry – riding the Santa bus is a lot less stressful than steering a sleigh and those naughty reindeer – he arrives in town happy, relaxed, and ready to spread the cheer!
• Spreads holiday joy from seat to seat – being on a bus gives Father Christmas the chance to meet lots of people and spread a little Christmas joy.
