Local mental health charity Mid and North East Essex Mind has teamed up with one of the fastest growing law firms in the East of England, Ellisons Solicitors, to host a joint business breakfast. The event will take place on Time to Talk Day (Thursday, 6 February) at The Lion Inn, Boreham, Chelmsford.
Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest annual mental health conversation. It’s a day for friends, families, communities and workplaces to come together to talk, listen and change lives. The business breakfast is aimed at HR professionals and business leaders and will provide an opportunity for all to discuss how to manage mental health in the workplace.
The networking event will include talks from Ginny Idehen, CEO of Mid and North East Essex Mind, and Julian Outen, Head of Employment at Ellisons. Business leaders will discuss employee wellbeing and provide advice on how to create the right culture.
Ginny Idehen is keen to promote healthy workplaces. She said: “Thanks to the introduction of our Mental Health Toolkit, we’ve been busy helping local businesses support employees with their mental wellbeing. It’s wonderful to see local enterprises embracing mental health and we’re looking forward to bringing everyone together to have a chat on Time to Talk Day.”
Ginny adds: “We’re delighted to be supported by Ellisons solicitors. Being aware of an employee’s mental wellbeing is a sign of a good employer, but it also makes for a better and more productive work environment.”
Julian Outen, Head of Employment at Ellisons, said: “Employers should take mental health seriously. Since the pandemic mental health issues have increased; this is a problem in the workplace, both from an employee point of view and from legal responsibilities. The business breakfast will discuss these issues and more. We’re really looking forward to sharing our knowledge with fellow business leaders on Time to Talk Day.”
The business breakfast will take place at Lion House, The Lion Inn, Boreham, Chelmsford, CM3 3JA on Thursday 6 February from 07.30am to 09.30am. Admission is free and refreshments will be provided.
