Independent housebuilder Dandara will be sponsoring the Braintree Hockey Club for the next two years, with the club’s pitch just up the road from Dandara’s new Towerlands Park development. As part of the pitch sideboard sponsorship, Dandara’s logo will be featured at the hockey club’s facilities in Bocking.
Founded in 1903 as the Braintree Men’s Hockey Club, the club is now one of the leading hockey clubs in Essex and includes men’s and women’s teams, along with junior teams for boys and girls aged 6 to 16. The club hosts matches and social events throughout the year at its pitch and clubhouse, and welcomes members of all skill levels and ages.
Bruce Hanley, Operations Manager from Braintree Hockey Club, commented: “Thank you to Dandara for their sponsorship and support of our club. We are largely funded by donors and sponsors, so Dandara’s gift will help ensure the club continues to thrive. We have a full schedule of matches and events for the new year, and we’re thankful to have Dandara’s support!”
Gemma Bannister, Head of Sales for Dandara Eastern, said: “It’s strong, flourishing local groups like Braintree Hockey Club that bring a sense of community to an area, and we’re pleased to be able to sponsor this wonderful organisation.
“With over 100 years of history in the area, the club has become a vital part of life in Braintree. We’re proud to support them as they continue doing important work and are excited to watch them play over the next two years.”
Located just over a mile from the pitch, Dandara’s brand-new collection of three- to five-bedroom homes at Towerlands Park offer proximity to both local town amenities and the natural beauty of Essex.
Excellent transport links for road and rail include Braintree station offering regular services to London Liverpool Street via Chelmsford, Shenfield and Brentford only 2.2 miles away. The A120 and A131 both bypass the town, with the A120 connecting to the M11.
