Global professional services firm, Aon plc (NYSE: AON), has welcomed its latest cohort of new, diverse early careers talent to its office in Chelmsford with the arrival of eight apprentices.
The new team members will work across a range of functional areas, and as part of Aon’s Early Careers Programme will gain meaningful work experience and benefit from opportunities to build professional skills through hands-on learning. All the trainees will be nurtured to become the next generation of leaders.
Aon’s apprenticeship programme offers a comprehensive 18-month to two-year experience that blends education with practical work. In addition to the apprenticeship programme, Aon also offers year placements and a graduate programme. University students undertake the placement in their third year, gaining invaluable real-world experience before returning to complete their degrees. The firm’s graduate programme, called ‘Launch,’ is focused on cultivating high achievers and preparing them for future leadership roles, ensuring a smooth transition into full-time positions.
Commenting on the new additions to the Chelmsford office, Nadine Sears, Head of Delivery said:
“Aon understands the importance of supporting young talent and providing diverse pathways, such as apprenticeships, to help them gain valuable experience in a professional setting while developing essential skills.
“I’d like to welcome Isabelle, Xavier, Samuel, Grace, Joshua, Sam, Amy, and Joseph to Aon’s Chelmsford team. Having started my own career as an Aon apprentice, I can personally attest to the abundance of opportunities this pathway offers. The new cohort will be guided by a skilled and welcoming team, paving the way for a fulfilling career. Each of them has a bright future ahead.”
Joshua Ashton, one of the newest members of Aon’s Chelmsford office, shared his experience:
“I’d known for a while that I wanted to pursue a career in professional services but assumed that to do so I’d need to go to university and get a degree. Whilst I didn’t rule that out as an option, I was keen to consider alternatives so when I heard that Aon offers an apprenticeship pathway, it was something I was keen to consider – not least of all as it allows me to work whilst I’m continuing to study.
“Being an apprentice at Aon is allowing me to gain a wide range of experience that is far beyond what I had anticipated I’d be exposed to. For anyone else considering a professional services apprenticeship, I’d highly recommend it.”
