Staff and residents at Chelmsford care home raise over £400 for the Alzheimer’s Society by participating in ‘Memory Walk’ to mark World Alzheimer’s Month
HC-One’s Admiral’s Reach Care Home in Chelmsford, Essex, has marked World Alzheimer’s Month by taking part in a ‘Memory Walk’.
The ‘Memory Walk’ took place on the 11th September, to raise money for the UK’s leading dementia charity, the Alzheimer’s Society. The Alzheimer’s Society help tackle all aspects of dementia by supporting those living with dementia.
World Alzheimer’s Month takes place in September and is an awareness month which seeks to challenge the stigma surrounding Alzheimer’s disease and types of dementia.
Staff and residents at Admirals Reach Care Home were joined by family and friends on the walk which included a route through the local park, where the group enjoyed the fresh air and wildlife.

As they went along, they handed out leaflets inviting the public to make donations via their JustGiving donations page. Admirals Reach Care Home have so far raised over £400 for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Residents enjoyed the ‘Memory Walk’ with resident Maureen Gibson stating, ‘what an adventure!’, whilst resident William Hodgson said, ‘I had a lovely time’.
