The British Urban Film Festival has announced Teddy Nygh, co-founder of Fully Focused Productions, Million Youth Media and director of documentaries including “Clashadatight1’s” and “Riot from Wrong” as the recipient of this year’s BUFF honorary award for outstanding contribution to the industry.
Nygh is the creative director of Million Youth Media, the London-based organisation that offers training and development to the next generation of filmmakers and under-represented talent.
The Million Youth Media YouTube channel has launched and supported over 450 films (including BUFF selections “Games Night” directed by James Campagne, “The Good Son” by Tomisin Adepeju, “Grounding” by Remi Moses, “Wireless” by Tayo Odesanya and the award-winning “Hush” produced by Candice Onyeama) with over 85 million views and almost five hundred thousand subscribers, making it the leading platform for young and up-coming filmmakers across the UK and around the world.
Earlier this year, the organisation won the Production Guild of Great Britain’s (PGGB) annual Film and TV Inclusion award.
Million Youth Media and MYM Academy are the creations of youth-led media organisation Fully Focused Productions. Fully Focused was founded by Nick Bedu and Teddy Nygh in 2010, with credits including BBC Three comedy series “Pru”, starring “Rocks” actor Kosar Ali.

The BUFF Honorary Award will be presented to Nygh by TV and radio broadcaster Remel London at the British Urban Film Festival Awards ceremony, Genesis Cinema on 25 October.
