GBNEWS.COM has secured 100 million monthly page views for the first time – as record numbers of people turn to the website of the People’s Channel for the latest news and analysis of breaking stories.
The site – which has been Britain’s fastest growing every month for the last 15 months – smashed through the landmark number in July, as 21 million visitors helped generate a new high of 103.14 million page views.
Major news events, including The General Election, Labour’s first weeks in power, the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, the Southport tragedy and the nationwide unrest which has followed, saw a surge of visitors to the website, building on the work of the last year and a half.
July’s number represents year-on-year growth of 140 per cent – and have been matched by record breaking growth across GB News’ plethora of social media platforms too.
GB News’ Chief Digital Officer Geoff Marsh said: “More and more people are turning to GB News, across all platforms, to stay up-to-date with what’s happening in the UK.
“We’ve been the fastest-growing news website in the country for the last 15 months running but it’s not just raw growth – visitors are staying longer and engaging more deeply with our compelling storytelling.
“We set out to be disruptive, to be the fearless champion of Britain, its voices and its values. And millions and millions of people are responding to that.”
He added: “Our owned and operated platforms are more popular than ever but we’re also seeing record growth right across social media, from YouTube – where we’ve now had more than 1.5 billion video views – to X, TikTok and Instagram.
“This is just the start. There is a huge appetite for what we’re delivering and we have massive ambitions to grow our digital audience further in the months and years ahead. The first few days of August indicate that our growth is set to continue through the Summer.”
Details of the record-breaking page views come as the channel announced it now has more than 10,000 paying members, just eight months after soft-launching GBN Membership, which enables viewers to directly support the channel.
With monthly price points of £5, £10 and £20 it offers access to paywalled content, including exclusive opinion and analysis, discounts and live events with the channel’s presenters.
Emily Fox, Head of GBN Membership, said: “We’ve seen a huge rise in the number of people who are supporting GB News.
“With the backing of our members, GB News is making a difference and changing the face of British journalism. They see how we are turning the volume up on the silent majority and standing for them when they are often ignored by the Establishment media.
“Our members have priority access to some of the channel’s most exclusive content including unseen documentaries and analysis from our presenters and reporters, all of which is driving the rapid growth of our community.”
GB News’ digital growth comes just days after it was announced GBN Radio has overtaken Times Radio’s weekly reach, according to the latest official RAJAR radio listening figures for Q2 2024.
It reached 518,000 people per week on average in the three months ending 23 June, up 63 per cent year-on-year.
