More than 250 holiday activity clubs offering over 90,000 free spaces are on offer for eligible children aged 4-16 years this summer.

A range of exciting activities such as sports and games, outdoor adventures, arts and crafts, baking and more will be run by local club providers across Essex and Thurrock, helping to keep young people active, socialise with others and make memories to support their wellbeing.

A parent who uses the programme told us: “I actually have no idea what I would do without the holiday clubs, they are a godsend! The staff are so friendly and caring and my three children love going which makes my life even easier and supports my mental health. The fact that they get to try new activities is also great.”

The Essex ActivAte programme is run by Active Essex and offers children who receive income related free school meals, pupil premium, or come from ‘low-income’ working households’, free spaces on summer camps, although, camps may offer discretionary paid for and paid spaces, so there is something for everyone.

Clubs will also provide nutritious meals and snacks, as well as offer food education, helping to reduce holiday hunger and support parents across the six weeks of summer.

To book onto an Essex ActivAte holiday club, families’ will be emailed a HolidayActivities voucher code by hello@holidayactivities, distributed by their child’s school. Each child will receive their own unique booking code and if a family is still waiting for a voucher code, please contact the school.
