HARP, Southend’s Homeless Charity is looking for young runners (or walkers) to take part in HARP2.4 on Saturday 6 July to raise money for their work to help people experiencing homelessness in Southend-on-Sea.

The event is a 2.4 km course and takes place at Westcliff Rugby Club, near Cherry Orchard Park, Southend-on-Sea at 5 pm for runners aged 11-18 and 5.30 pm for those aged 4-11. Entry is just £15 with a minimum sponsorship of £30 and all participants receive a running t-shirt and medal.

The event is part of HARP24, HARP’s annual 24-hour endurance event which is now in its 11th year and attracts around 300 runners each year.

Agata Elliott, Director of Fundraising and Communications at HARP said: “We’re really excited to be opening up HARP24 to young runners this year. The event is a great opportunity for young runners to experience the buzz of a running festival in a fun, friendly environment and there will be prizes for all age groups as well as those with the best fancy dress!”

The event is generously sponsored by local companies Ipecco and Stibbards meaning every penny raised from the event funds the life-changing work of HARP who support around 1,000 local people experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their home every year.
