Enjoy ACL Essex’s Creative Exhibitions in Chelmsford this July

Throughout July, ACL Essex will host creative exhibitions to show off the work of its pottery and photography learners.

The exhibitions, both to be held in Chelmsford, will highlight the skills that learners have gained throughout the academic year.

Lisa Jarentowski, ACL Essex Principal, is thrilled to celebrate the hard work of ACL Essex’s learners.

She said: “I’m so proud of our pottery and photography learners. They’ve worked so hard to produce exciting and daring images and pushed themselves to get creative with clay.

“At ACL Essex, we offer the chance for people to learn new skills and achieve their goals. This is an opportunity for our learners to showcase what they’ve learnt throughout the year.”

Photography Exhibition (Saturday 6 to Friday 12 July)

Many learners are keen to show off their photography portfolios at this exhibition.

One learner, Matt Musson, will showcase his portfolio, ‘Woodland Life’. This piece of work was inspired by Matt’s lockdown walks, where he reconnected with nature in the woodlands and country parks of Essex.

Matt said: “I did both the Level 1 and Level 2 courses. I’ve learned how to use my camera, get the best out of it, and get out of automatic mode. The courses have improved my creativity and given me a grounding on what a professional photographer has to do.”

ACL Essex’s photography exhibition opens on Saturday 6 July at three locations in Chelmsford:

County Hall, Market Road, Chelmsford CM1 1QH
High Chelmer Shopping Centre, 15A Exchange Way, Chelmsford CM1 1XB
The Art Place, The Meadows, Chelmsford CM2 6FD
The exhibition will run until Friday 12 July.

Pottery Exhibition (Saturday 6 July, 10am to 2.30pm)

This exhibition will showcase the work of pottery learners at ACL Essex’s centre in Chelmsford.

Pottery learner, Georgie, will showcase work undertaken throughout the year.

Georgie said: “Great centre, plenty of parking, inspirational tutor, supportive and patient, confidence building, making friends with like-minded enthusiasts… I love it. My world has suddenly got very small since caring for my husband. This precious time helps me cope.”

The pottery exhibition will take place on Saturday 6 July at ACL Essex’s Chelmsford centre:

ACL Chelmsford, Beeches Close, Chelmsford CM1 2SB
ACL Essex will also be offering free pottery sessions for members of the public on the day. Classes will take place 10am to 12pm and 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
