Fusion Lifestyle and Essex Activate are bringing a free Jamie Oliver Ministry of Food family cookery course to Witham Leisure centre this June. The course will give families the chance to improve their kitchen skills and knowledge as they learn to prepare tasty, nutritious and healthy meals together.
The free course, for family Groups in the Witham and Braintree area, starts on Monday 3rd of June and will run for 6 weeks, until Monday 8th July. Spaces are limited to 6 families and the 90-minute sessions will run from 4:30pm until 6:00pm.
The course will be delivered by Amanda Harrison, an accredited Nutritional Therapist, Health Coach, Leith’s Trained Chef, and mum of two. Amanda’s goal is to provide realistic stepping stones to support people towards improving their health and well-being, providing the tools to enable healthy eating, reducing the amount of processed food being consumed, and improving the health of the local community one forkful at a time.
Amanda works and volunteers at Witham Leisure Centre, Reed Wellbeing, Freshwell Low Carb Community and Bethel Church. Amanda’s current projects include the Jamie Oliver Ministry of Food Programme, NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme, Freshwell Drop Ins and Friendship and Refreshments for Ukrainians and their sponsors.
Richard Moss, Sport and Community Development Manager for Fusion Lifestyle, commented: “We are really excited to give our centre users the chance to learn about healthy nutrition and we can’t wait to welcome Amanda to start the classes.”
