Bellway Thames Gateway is preparing to welcome visitors to a new housing development which is part of a new garden village near Maldon.
The housebuilder is delivering 262 new homes at Westcombe Park as part of a new neighbourhood on land between Maypole Road and Broad Street Green Road, north of Heybridge.
Bellway, which is building two, three and four-bedroom homes, is opening the doors to a sales centre at the development on Saturday 24 February and has hired The Pizza Post to provide free pizzas and refreshments for visitors.
The first selection of homes – including two, three and four-bedroom designs priced from £347,500 will be available to reserve.
Samantha Norman, Sales Manager for Bellway Thames Gateway, said: “This is a very eagerly awaited launch, and it will be great to be able to declare this development open for business. We would like to invite people to come along to see our vision for Westcombe Park and to have a slice of pizza and a drink on us.
“Our sales team will be on hand to explain the range of sustainable high-quality homes we are building within this attractive new garden village. The wider neighbourhood has the ancient woodland of Heybridge Wood at its heart and will include additional green open spaces providing opportunities for sport and recreation.
“Homebuyers here will be part of a wider community, with a new neighbourhood centre planned, while land has also been set aside for a potential new primary school.
“We expect the collection of houses at the site will appeal to a broad spectrum of purchasers but, with the majority of these properties being two, three and four-bedroom houses for the private market, we anticipate that first-time buyers, young families and people looking to downsize will be drawn here.
“We’ve also already seen interest from commuters, given the proximity of Witham and Hatfield Peverel railway stations, just 15 minutes away by car. The A12 is also nearby for those travelling to Colchester, Chelmsford or London.
“Due to high demand, we are unable to book appointments. We are inviting visitors on a first come, first served basis. If you’re thinking of attending, please can you RSVP.”
Bellway is building 183 properties for private sale at Westcombe Park, alongside 79 affordable homes for local people, comprising 56 for affordable rent and 23 for shared ownership.
The Bellway development is the second phase of the wider project and is situated at the north-eastern edge of the new neighbourhood, which covers 188 acres. The Bellway homes will be accessed via a new spine road leading from a roundabout junction on Broad Street Green Road.
