Leading volume housebuilder Weston Homes have raised a record £156,000 for St Clare Hospice at their annual charity Golf Day at The Belfry Hotel and Resort in Sutton Coldfield. The Hospice based in Harlow, Essex cares for those with terminal illnesses, and provides support to loved ones who have been affected.

Sponsored and attended by 52 individual teams from other local companies, Weston Homes’ Golf Day raised an incredible sum in vital funding this year for St Clare Hospice, which will go towards their specialist, compassionate palliative care for local people living with a life-limiting illness in West Essex and East Herts.

On the day, guests and golfers enjoyed a welcome breakfast before teeing off at The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield, for the tournament which was won by specialist subcontractor firm Keylon Interiors. The event finished with an evening dinner and charity auction hosted by comedian Ian Irving in which guests bid generously for a selection of fabulous prizes.

Weston Homes are long-standing charitable partners of the West Essex and East Hertfordshire hospice and have raised over £1 million for the charity over the last 30 years. The hospice cares for those with conditions including respiratory and heart disease, Parkinson’s, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis, end-stage dementia and cancer.

St Clare Hospice works one-to-one with the person affected with a terminal illness and supports their whole family, offering a wide range of services, providing physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual support. The hospice receives a limited amount of NHS funding, with the majority made up in donations and voluntary funding.

Bob Weston, Chairman of Weston Homes says: “I am immensely proud of the incredible effort and generosity demonstrated by our team and the attendees of our annual charity Golf Day. Raising a record-breaking £156,000 for St Clare Hospice is a testament to our shared commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Our long-standing partnership with St Clare Hospice reflects our deep-rooted dedication to supporting our community and giving back, and we hope to make next year’s event even more successful”.
