This year 864 property professionals signed up to run 5K and 10K to support LandAid’s mission to end youth homelessness.
The event was sponsored by headline sponsors Allsop, alongside Gerald Eve as a trophy sponsor. Hundreds of runners took to Regent’s Park in London, alongside virtual runners based all across the country.
The torrential downpours did not dampen the positive spirits and determination. Competition was fierce as always, with a battle to finish in the fastest place.
The winners of the fastest run awards were; Emma Laverty of Oxford Economics who won the Fastest 10K Female with a time of 44:09 minutes, and Damini Lad of NatWest who won Fastest 5K Female with a time of 24:19 minutes.
Phil Gibb of Marchmont Investment Management won the Fastest 5K Male award with a time of 18:58 minutes, and Henry Chamberlayne of Allsop won the Fastest 10K Male award with a time of 35:36 minutes.
The LandAid 10K was not just an opportunity for sporty competition, but all participants also committed to fundraise to support youth homelessness charities across the UK. The current fundraising total sits at £52k and this is growing by the day!
The LandAid 10K’s Top Individual Fundraiser went to Jess Goldsworthy of Howard de Walden who so far has raised over £1,000 to end youth homelessness. And Oyster Partnership came in as the winning Top Fundraising Team with a total of over £5,000 raised for LandAid to date.
A special award, the Fun Runner award, was given to Josh Craig of RWK Goodman. Josh impressively ran the 10k course in sandals!
Paul Morrish, LandAid Chief Executive says: ‘LandAid are continuedly astounded by the support and enthusiasm of the property and built environment industry for the LandAid 10k. This year, even in the rain storm, hundreds ran through with high spirits to raise vital funds for LandAid. Youth homelessness is a growing problem. We need to provide long term, safe, secure and affordable accommodation for the thousands of young people across the country who need it. LandAid remains ever committed to our mission to end youth homelessness, but it is only by working with the property and built environment industry that we can achieve this. So, thank you to all who took part, together we can end youth homelessness.’
Scott Tyler, Senior Partner at Allsop, said: “Amid a cost-of-living crisis, the work that LandAid is doing on behalf of our sector is more important than ever and something we are very proud to support. The property industry’s ongoing and energetic commitment to such a worthwhile cause is a testament to the recognition of the power of the built environment – and the professionals working within it – to deliver positive social impact. Allsop is delighted once again to have sponsored the LandAid 10K.”
