Residents in Chelmsford are invited to adult education provider ACL Essex’s Festival of Learning: Have A Go Week on 6 September, where they will be able to attend free taster workshops, speak to ACL Essex teams about their learning aspirations, and enrol on a range of courses.
On 6 September, local residents can attend a variety of free taster workshops at ACL Chelmsford. These sessions will allow residents to try their hand at a range of fun and informative courses that will be available from September.
Tutors from a variety of subjects will be on hand to deliver the tasters. Workshops in creative topics will be on offer, as well as a chance to try out sessions for maths, English, digital and science qualifications. Also available are tasters for ACL Essex’s courses in psychology, beauty and hairdressing, mental health and wellbeing and many more.
Lisa Jarentowski, ACL Essex Principal said: “There is so much to discover at ACL Essex’s free taster workshops this September during the Festival of Learning: Have A Go Week. As children head back to school in September, why not take some time for yourself and try learning something new for free? These events offer residents the chance to sample courses, helping them to choose which would be right for them.
“It is great to be able to offer residents the chance to try courses before they take them. This could lead to wonderful experiences and learning opportunities, so book your taster today and have a go at something new to boost your employment prospects, get back into education, do something you have always wanted to do, or simply take up a new hobby.”
In addition to free workshops, the events will give residents the opportunity to speak to ACL Essex teams about support with their next steps in life and work, and to enrol on courses starting this September. The ACL Essex teams will be there to support local residents to learn new skills and improve their day-to-day lives and career prospects.
Many learners achieve outstanding things during their time at ACL Essex.
Festival of Learning: Have A Go taster sessions will be on offer from 6-14 September at various ACL Essex centres. ACL Chelmsford will be open for residents to try various courses on 6 September at its centre at Beeches Close, Chelmsford.
