Traditional Punting Company are hosting ‘Music on the River’ throughout August, allowing guests to enjoy live music whilst taking in the picturesque views from the River Cam.
This Summer of 2023, multiple acts with a range of different music styles, from folk music to contemporary ballads, will take the stage on the punts and perform intimate gigs on the River Cam. This event will feature three different artists throughout August:
Georgia, a singer-songwriter from Essex will perform on the 11th of August 2023. Georgia released her debut single, a mellow personal piece with haunting lyrics and delicate vocals, ‘Love Someone’ in 2021.
Ukulele Simon, the ‘beatboxing ukulele guy making music using ukuleles, beatbox, and effects… lots of effects’ is the second artist on the event’s lineup and will perform on 18th August 2023.
Imlac, a Scottish singer-songwriter who was recently on ‘BBC Introducing’ and has travelled all across Europe playing shows, will perform on the River Cam on the 25th of August.
Joe Merwiak, Director of Traditional Punting Company, said: “We’re so excited about this event – one thing many of us have in common is our enjoyment and love of music, and what is better than an intimate gig from incredibly talented musicians on the River Cam with a stunning backdrop of the college backs!”
Each of these events will begin at 7:15 pm, departing from Traditional Punting Company’s punting landing stage on the corner of Jesus.
