The Lionesses’ Euros 2022 victory supercharged women’s football beyond recognition. Countless girls and women across the country have been inspired to pick up their boots, matches are increasingly sold out and TV viewership is reaching new heights.
Yet, with the world’s biggest football tournament taking place this month in Australia and New Zealand, there are limited places to cheer on the team and join in the football fever, because matches kick off at breakfast time.
To help fans get a taste of the atmospheric, group viewing experience that makes international football so memorable, Just Eat, proud UEFA Women’s Football partner, is opening The Queen’s Header, a Great British Pub with a twist – it only shows women’s football and serves delicious breakfasts.
The pop-up pub promises the ultimate match day experience. It will open its doors for one week only in Shoreditch, London from Saturday 22nd July – Friday 28th July, in time for England’s first two matches against Haiti and Denmark. At the launch event on Saturday 22nd July, England Internationals Fran Kirby, part of the historic UEFA Women’s Euros 2022 winning squad, and Toni Duggan will provide in-game analysis for the opening match. While BT Sport Presenter Josh Denzel will welcome fans.
Across the week, football-lovers can tuck into delicious breakfasts delivered by Just Eat from LEON and The Breakfast Club, as well as fresh juices from JOE & THE JUICE. Further enhancing the excitement of the game, fans can enjoy halftime entertainment, sip on brunch cocktails and enjoy a few surprise treats from Greggs and Krispy Kreme too.
Not only is it a destination to enjoy fantastic food, fierce fandom and footballing finesse, it’ll help support grassroots women’s football. As part of its continued commitment to progressing the women’s game, Just Eat will donate event ticket sales, plus a further £50,000 investment, to its Feed the Game fund. The fund aims to inspire and encourage more women and girls to play football and it will be open to the 101 women’s football teams Just Eat helped to kickstart last summer.
Victoria Gold, UK & Ireland Marketing Director at Just Eat said: “England’s triumph in the 2022 Euros undeniably fuelled appetites for the women’s game. However, the location of this year’s football tournament has resulted in some unfortunate game times for UK fans. However, with The Queen’s Header, we’re recreating the magic of last summer’s Euros, providing a place for people to enjoy and support the women’s game.
“Furthermore, recognising that grassroots is the foundation of football, we want to help make the women’s game even stronger. By providing more financial assistance to help cover rising costs, our Feed the Game fund aims to help keep more women playing the sport they love.”
