*** FREE FOR EDITORIAL USE *** GOOD VIBES ONLY - Boris Johnson and Piers Morgan seemingly didn’t make it onto the guestlist for YO’s newly launched Happy Half Hour on Wednesday, as onlookers at the Manchester Arndale branch enjoyed the relaunch of the restaurant’s iconic belt. This comes as Brits crowned Boris Johnson and Piers Morgan amongst the biggest celebrity mood killers, they’d least like to dine with.

Boris Johnson has been crowned the UK’s biggest celebrity mood killer (33%), followed by Nigel Farage (31%) and Katie Hopkins (26%).

New research from YO! – the brand looking to cheer Britain up with a new serotonin-packed menu and relaunch of its iconic belt– found that 74% of Brits are trying to find extra pockets of happiness in these tough times, and surrounding yourself with positive people is one of their key tactics.

YO! is launching a new ‘Happy Half Hour’ every day from 3-3.30pm to celebrate the relaunch of its iconic kaiten belt to all UK restaurants, alongside a serotonin boosting menu but has decided to ban the celebs that Brits would least like to sit down and enjoy a meal with.

Boris Johnson (33%), Nigel Farage (31%), Katie Hopkins (26%) and Piers Morgan (24%) are all on the ‘no go’ list. Fifteen percent of Brits even named former PM, Johnson, as the ‘ultimate nightmare dinner date’.

Meanwhile, David Attenborough, Ant & Dec and Dwayne Johnson are more than welcome as they’re crowned the most cheerful celebrities people would like to dine with.

Over a third of people (31%) voted national treasure, David Attenborough, in their top three, with other celebrities on the public’s invite list including Ant & Dec (27%), Dwayne Johnson (25%), Gino D’Acampo (22%), Alison Hammond (20%) and Kevin Hart (20%).

Although, even when dining with these celebrity favourites, conversation killers such as Brexit and Love Island should be avoided at all costs.

Love them or hate them, these were the two standout topics people named as the biggest conversation killers over dinner, with 46% of people voting Brexit in their top three – and despite the recent return of villa singletons on our screens – 43% of people voting Love Island as a no-go topic.

Other topics to avoid include Football Club Ownership (31%), Partygate (29%), Work (25%) and The Royal Family (25%). However, true to British form, the weather received the least votes as a conversation killer, featuring in just 17% of people’s top three.

YO! has set its new rules as it reintroduces its kaiten belt to all UK restaurants and launches a ‘Happy Half Hour’ to help the 74% of people who said they are looking for ‘extra pockets of happiness’ everyday with most (27%) people feeling a ‘happiness zap’ during an afternoon slump (between 2 – 5pm).

Happy Half Hour will see YO!’s new serotonin-filled dishes served on the belt at 25% off for two weeks from Wednesday 28th June, 3pm-3.30pm.* Dishes include the new Big Maki, Sriracha chicken inari taco, Tuna non-stop, and Nigiri ‘n’ maki mix, as well as some of the much-loved YO! Classics.

Victoria Mathers, UK Head of Marketing at YO! said: “Conversation can bring happiness, joy and fun but often we are bogged down with political scandal and division or even boring reality TV chat. We want to bring some joy into people’s lives with our Happy Half Hour promising great deals and great vibes, so ditch the bad chat and head to YO! for amazing food, good company and a truly Japanese experience. No mood-killing celebs allowed!”
