The North Essex Economic Board (NEEB) have commissioned a 2 year business support programme which will be provided by support service Backing Essex Business.
The North Essex Economic Board (NEEB) is a partnership of local authorities in the area: Braintree, Maldon, Tendring district councils, Colchester Borough Council and Chelmsford City Council. It was formed to support the economic growth of the area, making it a wonderful place to work, live, and do business.
Delivered by Let’s Do Business Group, Backing Essex Business has a proven track record of helping businesses in the area to succeed and thrive, having supported 374 businesses in the area over the last 19 months. The business support package that will now be offered is an expansion on their existing offering, providing assistance to not only established businesses, but also entrepreneurs looking to start their own business.

Established businesses can access FREE professional advice from our dedicated business advisors on topics such as business planning, strategy, financial forecasting, marketing, recruitment, decarbonisation and digital skills.

Delivered on a one to one basis, businesses can access finance specialists to understand their funding requirements and most suitable mechanisms. Business will be advised on the most appropriate routes for finance including any grants that are available to them. Backing Essex Business can provide access to the Start Up Loans, and Recovery Loan Scheme for businesses needing capital expenditure. Business that may be struggling in the current financial climate can benefit from impartial advice on their next steps.
FREE training and workshops
Offering a full calendar of workshops and seminars, businesses can upskill and learn a range of new techniques to help them overcome common business issues. On topics including financial forecasting, growth in a recession, marketing, innovation and sustainability. There will also be a series of Start Up Workshops for entrepreneurs looking to start a business of their own.
