Multi award-winning housebuilder, The Hill Group, has been busy getting into the celebratory spirit at Marleigh Primary Academy by inviting children to participate in a competition to create a castle fit for a King. In honour of the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III on Saturday 6th May, all of the school children were given the exciting task of designing and making their own royal residence during the Easter holidays.
The children were asked to make a castle using recycled materials such as toilet rolls, cereal boxes, and cardboard, using a simple step-by-step guide they could easily follow at home. All entries were brought into school after the Easter break, ready to be judged by Becky Robins, Project Sales Manager at The Hill Group, who chose three winning creations on Friday 21st April.
The impressive winning entry was submitted by Jacob, while Viveka achieved second place for her fantastic castle creation, and third place was given to Kristian. All three children were presented with their prizes in a school assembly. The winner, Jacob, received a family ticket to visit Warwick Castle, and the second and third-place winners each received an Amazon gift voucher.

Becky Robins, Project Sales Manager at The Hill Group comments: “This competition has been a wonderful way for the children at Marleigh Primary Academy to engage their creative minds and celebrate the forthcoming Coronation of King Charles III. All of the castles were worthy of a royal Seal of Approval and all the children should be very proud of themselves. We look forward to organising further opportunities with the teachers and children at Marleigh Primary Academy.”
Mike Fish, Headteacher at Marleigh Primary Academy comments: “All the children have thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to create a castle fit for a King during their Easter holidays. I have been very impressed by the imaginative designs that have been made using simple recycled materials – it’s amazing what can be achieved from things that would have gone into recycling bins! Special thanks go to the staff and children at Marleigh Primary Academy, along with The Hill Group for inviting our school to take part, and of course Jacob, Viveka, and Kristian for their winning castles. We have worked with Hill on many community events since the school opened last year, and we look forward to more exciting events like this in the future.”
