In November and December this year, British soul star Kenny hits the road with his all-star band of musicians performing his biggest UK theatre tour in over 20 years including a date at London’s Indigo at The O2 on Saturday 2nd December.
This all comes off the back of a sell out tour in April 2022, with Kenny finishing the year with an incredible headline performance at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire.
On the tour, Kenny said:
“I couldn’t be more excited to bring everyone the Brit-Soul Ascending tour off the back of sellout run in April 2022. I’ll be performing with my full band and the show will include all my hits and fan favourites, plus new songs from my forthcoming album. See you at the front.”
2022 was a busy year for Kenny Thomas after releasing two critically acclaimed singles, the first in over ten years and both songs were heavily supported across PR and Radio including BBC Radio 2 (Trevor Nelson, DJ Spoony and Tony Blackburn) alongside BBC 6 Music (Craig Charles), Jazz FM and Mi-Soul plus no less than 9 editorial Soul playlists across Spotify, Deezer, Apple and Amazon.
2023 looks set to be even busier, with a career-spanning Best Of album in the works to coincide with his Brit Soul Ascending tour.
Kenny remains one of the most important and successful UK soul singers of his generation with his debut album ‘Voices’ selling 600,000 copies in the UK alone on Chrysalis Records in 1991 achieving a total of 8 Top 40 singles and 2 Top 10 records whilst picking up 2 x BRIT-Award Nominations for ‘Best Male Vocalist’ and ‘Best Newcomer’.
In lockdown, Gary Barlow invited him to sing ‘Thinking About Your Love’ on his ‘Crooner Sessions’ which went onto be a viral hit, with well over 4 Million views ahead of other guests such as Rod Stewart and Journey.
In late 2021, Kenny also released his autobiography ‘ Baring My Soul’ which received outstanding reviews alongside being featured in a BBC Top of The Pops documentary on BBC2 having performed on the show no less than 9 times over 30 years.
