The York Dungeon is excited to announce a frightful Valentine’s Day competition, offering romantics the chance to win a private daring date at the attraction by penning a poem to the Dungeon’s character Infectious Polly.
Plague-ridden Polly is in search of a new partner this Valentine’s Day and The York Dungeon is looking to help her on her quest for love by inviting inspiring wordsmiths to submit a special poem via the attraction’s social media.
Those who impress Infectious Polly will be in with a chance of winning themselves, and a plus one, free tickets to The York Dungeon, meaning the (un)lucky pair can enjoy a gruesome date at one of UK’s most spooky attractions.
The unfortunate peasants who claim the prize will have free rein of the attraction on Valentine’s Day… sort of. The pair will be shown around the dingy dungeons by none other than – unlucky in love – Infectious Polly herself, talk about third wheeling!
The York Dungeon is infamous for taking visitors deep into the depths of the darkest secrets of the city’s unique history, whether it be visiting the Vengeance of the Vikings or the Curse of the Witch there is plenty of scares around every corner.
Mark Mattinson, General Manager of The York Dungeon, said: “We are excited to announce Infectious Polly will be joining our other ghastly characters at The York Dungeon this Valentine’s Day, and so could you!
“Our new competition means one (un)fortunate couple will have the pleasure of visiting Polly and the other characters free of charge during the romantic holiday, so long as they can woo our resident plague pauper with a special Valentine’s Day poem.
“The loved-up duo will have the gruesome luxury of enjoying all our shows with no other guests around, giving them an extra special experience on the most romantic day of the year! So, if you want a first date from hell, or a wedding anniversary to be remembered, head on over to our social media channels to submit your entry.”
To enter the competition head over to The York Dungeon’s socials channels and submit your best rhymes to be in with a chance of winning: https://www.facebook.com/YorkDungeon/ , @yorkdungeon on Instagram & Tiktok.
The winner will be announced and contacted on Friday 10th February and the winning poet and their (un)loved one MUST be available to visit The York Dungeon on Tuesday 14th February during opening hours from 10am – 5pm.
