London Southend Airport is getting set for the summer season and has several vacancies available to recruit new staff for March 2023 onwards.
Applicants can apply to work in a range of sectors, including Security, Air Traffic Control, Front of House and Facilities.

1. Security Officer – Part Time (16 or 20 hours p/w)
This 6-month fixed term contract will see several successful applicants working within the Security Team to support the smooth and timely processing of passengers, as well as carrying out essential aviation duties across the airport. You should be able to demonstrate a hardworking, adaptable attitude and be able to thrive on variety in the workplace. A background in the aviation industry and a customer service environment would be an asset but not essential.

2. Air Traffic Control Assistant – Traineeship
Kickstart your career in aviation with our Air Traffic Control Assistant apprenticeship scheme. You’ll be given on-the-job training in all aspects of an ATC Assistant and the chance to later qualify as an Air Traffic Controller. You’ll be working alongside the operational Air Traffic Control Officers, assisting and supporting as required.

3. Air Traffic Control Officer
London Southend Airport relies and we’re looking for someone to fill this essential role to maintain the safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic in our airspace. You’ll be responsible for preventing collisions between aircraft in the air and also between aircraft and vehicles on the manoeuvring area. Applicants must have a UK CAA Aerodrome Control Rating and Endorsement licence.

4. Facilities Technician
A multiskilled Facilities Technician is required as part of a permanent position on a 4-on-4-off shift pattern. The candidate will plan and react to necessary maintenance of the airport’s buildings, infrastructure and plant. This Includes but is not limited to: hot/cold water, sanitation, electrical services, HVAC, CCTV/access control, fire detection/suppression, and mechanical servicing.

5. Food & Beverage Assistant – Part Time (12 hours p/w)
A high standard of customer service is pivotal in London Southend Airport’s vacancy for a Food & Beverage Assistant. As a part time role, you’ll only be expected to work 12 hours per week across multiple restaurant/bar/café/lounge outlets throughout the terminal. This position will run for six to eight months depending on individual circumstances.

6. Quality & Compliance Officer
A Quality & Compliance Officer will work closely with the management team to provide business support in all areas of the job. You will manage the Document and Change Management process for the division, whilst driving Business Compliance and Quality Assurance within the company. This is a hybrid role with the option work from home and the office.
