Employees at Barratt and David Wilson Homes, based in Chelmsford, have taken part in a charity walk challenge which saw the team raise a total of £490 for Barth Syndrome UK.

Chosen as the developer’s charity of the year in 2022, Barth Syndrome UK operates across the country and supports patients and families suffering with Barth syndrome, a rare condition characterised by an enlarged and weakened heart.
The charity also funds research into treatment for the condition, with a goal to eventually find a cure.
Around 30 employees took part in the walk from Heybridge Basin back to the developer’s head office on Springfield Lyons Approach in Chelmsford.
A competition to take the most scenic photo was also carried out on the day, and the developer crowned Customer Care Manager and walk organiser, Louise Hewitt, the winner of the competition.
Tom Wright, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties, said: “We are proud of our employees for their continued support for Barth Syndrome UK over the past year.
“It is an invaluable charity which works to save lives whilst providing the most comprehensive source of reliable and current information about the rare genetic condition, Barth syndrome.
“We have a fantastic team here at Barratt and David Wilson Homes, and everyone is always willing to support great causes such as this however they can.”
Barratt and David Wilson Homes has previously supported Barth Syndrome UK with setting up a charity football day and golf day, and a clay pigeon shooting event.
