Taylor Wimpey put its support behind the Burnham-on-Crouch community this autumn by donating £2,300 in sponsorship to two key community events.
The housebuilder is building new homes in the town at the Emberton Grange development, where a new three-bedroom Byford showhome is now available to view. The local team pledged £1,300 towards Burnham Carnival and a further £1,000 to the Rotary Club of Burnham on Crouch and Dengie Hundred 10K race.
The 10k event, which took place on 9th October 2022, raises funds for Farleigh Hospice and Knightswood Day Care Centre, in addition to the club itself. Taylor Wimpey’s £1,000 donation was put towards the co-ordination of the event to ensure the maximum amount possible went to the two charities.
Dennis Bloomfield, member of the organising committee for the Rotary Club of Burnham on Crouch and Dengie, said: “I wish to personally thank Taylor Wimpey for their generous sponsorship. As a result, the club has been able to further improve the run and concentrate on the facilities offered to runners and supporters.
“There are lots of costs involved in hosting a run and we are grateful for Taylor Wimpey’s donation which has been a huge help in covering the expenses.”
Burnham Carnival took over the streets of the town on Saturday 24th September 2022. Organisers were keen to throw a big party for the community, with events and entertainment all day.
Highlights included the illuminated procession to conclude the celebrations, as well as performances from a diverse range of acts such as a Romford-based marching band and Rampage, a Caribbean dancing group from London.
The carnival relies on the support of sponsors and this year housebuilder Taylor Wimpey, who are building new homes in town at Emberton Grange, stepped in to offer a £1,300 donation, which went towards funding the musical acts.
Alex Greaves, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey London, said: “We’ve been part of the Burnham-on-Crouch community for a little while and it’s been great to see such a variety of community events take place in the town.
“We really enjoyed supporting the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations back in June, so we were all too happy to lend a hand to this year’s carnival and 10k race. We hope that plenty of our customers at Emberton Grange took part in these two great events, and we look forward to supporting the community further in 2023.”
Taylor Wimpey also donated £2,250 to St Mary’s Church of England Primary School in Burnham-on-Crouch to help fund new equipment for a higher-than-usual reception intake.
Emberton Grange is in Marsh Road, Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex, CM0 8PY.
