NIGEL Farage has revealed that he has been approached several times to appear on ITV’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
He spoke out after a fan of the show called Dan told Ant and Dec on their after-show podcast that they should get him into the jungle.
Dec replied that it was a “very, very good idea” while Ant said “I’d like to see that”.
Commenting, Nigel said on his GB News show, Farage: “Well there’s been a lot of speculation over the years about me going into the jungle. It’s appeared in all sorts of newspapers.
“The Daily Star seems to talk about it every single year that goes by, and it is true.
“I have been approached several times by I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and I’ve always ruled it out.
“I’ve never thought it would be a good thing to do. I thought it’s all rather humiliating, frankly.
“But I suppose you can never ever say never.
“I’d love to get actually some of your reaction, some of your feedback whether you think I should be in the jungle, or whether you think we should leave it to people like Matt Hancock.”
His comments come days after Jacob Rees-Mogg, the former business secretary, told GB News that Hancock had made a “mistake” and was “ill-advised” to appear on the show, but said he has been unduly criticised by opposition politicians.
“However, I think the treatment he is getting has gone beyond good fun and become deeply unpleasant. And it rather worries me that people think it is funny to humiliate somebody in this way,” Rees-Mogg said.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has said he has not had time to watch Hancock on the programme.
“I’ve barely seen my children or anyone else for that matter over the last couple of weeks, so no, I haven’t seen it,” he said.
